NJ Solar Rebates
The New Jersey Clean Energy Program (NJCEP) currently offers incentives for solar electric systems. Sea Bright Solar will file all the paperwork for you. We will explain just how the incentives work.
Businesses are not only eligible for state incentives but also federal tax benefits, such as a 30 percent tax investment credit and depreciation benefits. Residential customers are also eligible for a $2000 federal tax credit. Solar system owners in New Jersey are able to sell their pollution certificates (solar renewable energy certificates, or SRECs) and can generate significant income by doing so.
Solar incentives include:
0% sales tax: Solar electric systems are sales-tax exempt.
Solar Renewable Energy Certificates (SRECs): Receive payments from utilities for the clean energy you produce! The New Jersey Clean Energy Program (NJCEP) intends to increase the value of SRECs, giving the average system owner thousands of dollars in income per year.
Federal tax credits: Homeowners can receive a $2,000 federal tax credit. Businesses can receive a 30% federal tax credit, up to allowable amounts, plus depreciation.
Freedom from utility price hikes:
Solar energy will help you save money and break free from your utility bills and produce clean, free energy for decades! A solar electric system is an investment; it pays for itself.
NJCEP & PSE&G Incentives:
The NJCEP has announced a plan to offer upfront rebates for solar projects in 2009. PSE&G also has a solar loan program for its residential and commercial customers. Please contact us for up-to-date details.
State and federal tax benefits and state rebates can make solar electric systems a reality for anyone in New Jersey who truly wants to generate his or her own electricity, decrease reliance on fossil fuels, become environmentally friendly, and break free of increasing monthly utility bills. Unlike electricity generated only by utility companies, electricity generated by solar and wind electric systems are free from rate increases

New forms of incentives, including renewable energy certificates, can be combined with net metering and other incentives. With these, a PV system can garner substantial revenue per kWh generated.
