Did you know that solar jobs in the United States increased by 25% in 2016? That’s right, the industry added 260,077 more solar workers last year, meaning one out of 50 new jobs were created in solar alone!
The Solar Foundation’s National Solar Jobs Census 2016 is the seventh annual update on current employment, trends, and projected growth in the U.S. solar industry. Solar industry employment has almost tripled since the first National Solar Jobs Census was released back in 2010.
The public response to this year’s Census was remarkable. The Census was featured in multiple high-profile media networks and shared throughout social media. The main message from the results this year is that solar energy creates jobs that drive economic growth in this country. It is imperative that solar energy gets the utmost attention and support it deserves.
