Here in the United States, cars are both a huge part of our culture and our history. They give us the freedom to go where we want at any given time. They give us the ability to travel safely and dependably over large distances. And they even serve as an expression of ourselves, including colors, designs, and style choices. However, with more than 263 million cars on the roads as of 2015, we’ve started to see how much of a problem these vehicles can become. On one hand, traffic levels have gotten out of hand and there are more vehicles than the roads in many major cities are designed to handle. But likewise, these fuel-burning vehicles consume oil and create exhaust which pollutes the atmosphere and has done considerable damage to the environment.
This issue has prompted the rise and rapid advancement of the electric car and hybrid technology. Using electricity to power vehicles is not only cleaner, but rapidly becoming the more energy-efficient way of getting where you need to go. And it’s this rapidly advancing and now popular technology which is the focus of National Drive Electric Week 2019!
Throughout National Drive Electric Week 2019, events held all around the New York and New Jersey area will focus on and highlight the benefits of ditching the gas tank and switching over to either a full-electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle. Each event will have a different host, as well as different information, displays, and other demonstrations available. However, each one will have the valuable information you need about life while driving an electric car. You’ll even be able to see firsthand how much you could save and how your life could change when you move over to an electric vehicle.
You can learn more about the events happening in both New York and New Jersey by searching the event directory located here.
Elsewhere This Month
We also wanted to take the time to highlight two other important events happening within the next few weeks. First, the National Solar Tour will roll through the New York and New Jersey area on Saturday, October 5th. The National Solar Tour is a series of solar open houses conducted by actual customers who wish to share their solar experiences with others. This is a great event for those who are considering switching to solar, but who are hesitant due to a number of questions or concerns. Not only will you be able to get the answers you’re looking for directly from someone who has gone through the transition themselves, but you’ll be able to see solar power in action and what kind of benefit it can have on your life. This year’s event will feature three SunPower® by Sea Bright Solar installations throughout New Jersey, and will run from 12 noon to 5pm. We request that all guests RSVP online.
We are also hosting another informational event Thursday October 10th with our Cigars & Solar event. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and get information from Brian Kelly of Sea Bright Solar, one of the rock stars of the solar industry and a tremendous wealth valuable information. Both home and business owners will be able to attend, ask questions, and learn more about how solar can benefit their lives. Attendees will also receive a complimentary featured blend cigar from Cortez Cigars as well as sample local wines varietals from Grape Beginnings. While an RSVP is not required for this event, we appreciate an RSVP from those who are planning on attending ahead of time.
